Longwood Security Services recognizes our Officers who go ‘Above and Beyond’ their responsibilities in delivering world-class services to our select world-class clientele. Every week we honor these Officers and commend them for their exceptional work.

Longwood Security Services, thanks to our new website, will be publishing the stories behind these Officers who went ‘Above and Beyond.’ We appreciate them all everyday and we hope you will too now that we are getting the word out.

Officer Helon Holliday: Lost and Found

Officer Helon Holliday was on the look-out for a 15 year old boy who was reported missing shortly after arriving at the hospital with his mother. Not long after the Boston Children’s Hospital Security department received the missing person call, an alert Officer Holliday recognized the boy near a bus stop.

Officer Holliday, relying on his training, notified other Longwood Security personnel who escorted the boy’s mother to his location and reunited the family.

Officer Holliday is commended for his quick, thoughtful action resulting in a fast, safe resolution. Nice work, Officer Holliday.

On the lighter side, Officer Holliday was also commended by Boston Children’s Hospital staff for comforting a small crying child. Officer Holliday consoled the child by blowing bubbles with the little boy. In response, Officer Holliday said he always carries bubbles because you never know when they will come in handy. Great job, Officer Holliday.

Officer Norman Wallen: A Cure for What Ails

While Officers typically don’t hand-deliver lost items to their owners, recently a Longwood Security Officer did just that. A parent accidently dropped their child’s prescription that was promptly turned in to Officer Norman Wallen at the Security Post. Longwood Security Officers personally ensured the prescription made it back into the parents’ possession. Thank you, Officer Wallen.

Officer Walter Alves: Nothing Gets Past

A vigilant Walter Alves, a Longwood Security Officer at Boston Children’s Hospital, watched an individual enter the hospital who was a significant Wanted Person by the Boston Police Department. This individual had also made threats towards hospital employees. Officer Alves quickly notified fellow Officers and the individual was stopped, identified and detained.

Officer Alves’ attention to detail, quality of work and reliance on his training, was able to assist Boston Police in neutralizing the threat this dangerous individual posed to both Boston Children’s Hospital and the public at large.

Officer Louis Guerrier: Lending a Hand  

Officer Louis Guerrier’s outstanding work and exceptional customer service was personally recognized by a patient at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. Officer Guerrier noticed this patient struggling to exit a car. Officer Guerrier sprung into action, getting a wheelchair and assisting the patient to the pharmacy and back to the car. The patient said, “If it wasn’t for Officer Guerrier, I would’ve fallen and hurt myself.”

East Boston Neighborhood Health Center and Longwood Security Services appreciates your care for the community, Officer Guerrier. Keep up the great work!

Officer Joseph Bobbitt and Officer Meghan Jenkins: Unflappable in the Face of Adversity  

A doctor at Boston Children’s Hospital took a moment out of their undoubtedly busy schedule to highlight their appreciation and express how impressed they were by the work of Officer Joseph Bobbitt and Officer Meghan Jenkins.

The doctor called Security to assist with a young patient. The doctor remarked how, throughout the process, Officer Bobbitt and Officer Jenkins were patient, calm, thoughtful, compassionate and professional.

The doctor went on to credit Officer Bobbitt and Officer Jenkins for their help in directly contributing to what was ultimately a positive outcome of problem that could have been much worse.

Well done, Officer Bobbitt and Officer Jenkins.

Kudos to All
